This includes two weekly sessions (Sunday and Wednesday afternoons) which will cater for 100+ guests. A discipleship programme (Lighthouse Academy) is also provided on Tuesday afternoons for those exploring faith or helping them to develop their commitment to Jesus.

3. Care Homes

4. District Visitation
Working with a small team of volunteers the LCM District Visitor visits door-to-door in deprived areas of the city. This is often undertaken in cooperation with a local church.A weekly ‘Street Church’ takes place in city centre Briggate Shopping Precinct. Shoppers and visitors have the opportunity to receive literature and counsel as well as discussing the gospel message as it is presented by testimony, song and in print.

5. Railways
Leeds Railway Station is one of the busiest transport hubs in the North of England with over 100,000 people movements, approximately 1200 arrivals/departures of trains and 300-400 staff present every weekday. Chaplaincy support is provided to both staff and travellers

6. Pantry Project
LCM provides supplies of food to people in great need and who are struggling with life. These include unemployed, discharged prisoners, addicts in recovery, people experiencing benefit delays or insecure job status. Recipients are identified through the regular ministries of LCM or by referral. Food is sourced from supermarket surpluses.

7. Christmas Kids Present Project
Identified needy families receive Christmas presents for their children. LCM sources presents from businesses, churches and other organisations. In 2020 LCM provided 120 presents to 60 children in deprived areas of Leeds City. A booklet on the Christmas story was also provided.

8. Holiday Projects
Working in partnership with local churches, LCM staff are engaged in providing holiday clubs. These will include games, craft trips, singing, bible stories enabling children to learn about Jesus and have fun at the same time. LCM staff are also involved in organising a week long summer camp under canvas for teenagers from poor families and deprived backgrounds.

9. Christian Literature
Apart from church bookstalls, there is no evangelical Christian bookshop in the Leeds area – a population of 751,000 people! Re-Store shop has a small second hand books section. It also sells Bibles. This is the only public retail outlet providing physical access to Christian literature in the whole of the city.

10. Church Support
LCM seeks to support small struggling churches throughout the city. This can be by occasional or temporary secondment of staff to help with a specific project, joint ventures, provision of clothes, food, gifts, advice, speakers for church services and meetings to enhance the impact of the local church

11. Charity Shop
Re-Store Charity Shop raises funds for LCM work. Free grants of clothing are also made to needy individuals and groups (eg refugees) who are in desperate need. Work experience is provided for those experiencing long term unemployment due to addictions wanting to get back into work. It has an informal role as a listening and counselling centre as visitors and volunteers unburden themselves. There are welcome opportunities to share the hope of the gospel for those who are struggling with life.

12. Proposed Works
We're also hoping to begin the following works in the future:
Christians Against Poverty Money Course Project (possibly developing into a CAP Centre).
A Children's Worker for School Work.
